ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford Police said two people are arrested and charged in connection with a shooting downtown on Aug. 31, where stray bullets flew near a group of protesters with the May 30 Alliance.
A Facebook Live from the May 30 Alliance shows people running away after the microphone picks up gunshots nearby the Winnebago County Justice Center, 650 W. State St., Rockford.
Emilio Esteves-Barrera, 20, Rockford, and Angel Barrera-Esteves, 23, Rockford, were both charged in connection to that shooting, which police said was a road rage incident.
Emilio Esteves-Barrera faces aggravated discharge of a weapon, reckless discharge, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, and parole violation charges.
Angel Barrera-Esteves faces one count of not having a FOID card.
Rockford Police say the men shot toward another vehicle and bullets struck the other vehicle at least four times.
Officers also seized two guns and a silencer from the men in custody.
