DAVIS JUNCTION, Ill. (WREX) — If you want a juicy burger for lunch or dinner, the devoted customers at JC's Junction Corner say to look no further.

The burger joint opened in 2015 and found success right off the bat. Something owner John Scanlan credits to the restaurants small menu.

"Burger, chicken, pork chop that's it."

"I think if do one or two items and do them good, then you're going to be successful," says Scanlan.

The spot is located on the corner of Illinois Route 72 and Route 251 in Ogle County, attracting travelers, workers and hungry customers from near and far.

"Its small, 900 square foot," says Scanlan. "See if you can find a place to sit down, it gets crazy at lunch time."

"I like staying busy, going, going, going," says waitress Kitty Johnson. "It makes things fun, exciting."

"Never a dull moment."

With people coming in around the clock, orders flying in over the phone, busy is how JC's likes to run. The fun loving staff of cooks, waitresses and bartenders greet customers as they come in and Johnson says that is why she loves working at JC's.

"Since it is so small, you're constantly interacting with the customer," she says. "The customers make it too, you know. They come, they're great, they're nice, they're excited. Its why I've been here five years."

"[The staff] they work very hard at what they do, they're very pleasant to our customers and I think that's why we're so successful," says Scanlan's wife and owner of the restaurant, Chawn Scanlan.

Whatever the reason for success, there is no denying the joy a fresh-made burger brings when you bite in, and that is JC's specialty. The restaurant has sold nearly 200,000 burgers in the six years its been open, and that's not including the chicken or porkchop sandwiches they make too.

"What makes this place unique is that everything is fresh," says Scanlan, "we don't even have a freezer."

"You can taste the difference and that is what sets us apart."

JC's Junction Corner is open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. weekdays, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. Friday and Saturdays, and from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Sundays. Its located at 13939 Illinois Route 72.
