UPDATE: OGLE COUNTY (WREX) — The pedestrian hit by a semi-truck on Wednesday in Ogle County suffered serious injuries.

Authorities say the woman is an 86-year-old resident of Oregon. The woman was hit while trying to cross the street on Route 2 in Ogle County, police say.

There's no word of any charges against the driver at this time.

OGLE COUNTY (WREX) — An investigation is underway after a pedestrian is hit by a vehicle on Route 2 in Ogle County.

According to Illinois State Police, it's assisting the Ogle County Sheriff's Department, which is leading the investigation. The crash happened on Route 2 between Grand Detour and Oregon, according to Illinois State Police.

Information is limited until the lead investigator, the Ogle County Sheriff's Office, releases information. 13 reached out to the office and Sheriff Brian VanVickle and have not heard back at this time.
