UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — One person was taken to the hospital following a crash Monday in Winnebago County.

Illinois State Police say it happened just before 12 p.m. on US bypass 20 eastbound near IL Rt. 2.

ISP says a truck-tractor with no trailer was having engine problems and could not go more than 5 mph. That's when a box van caught up to the truck and hit the back of it.

The driver of the box truck was taken to to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck-tractor was not hurt, police say.

The driver of the truck-tractor was cited for minimum speed restriction while the box truck driver was cited for a failure to reduce speed.

US 20 was backed up for nearly 3 hours while authorities investigated. The road is completely reopen again, according to ISP.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A traffic crash has caused some delays on US 20 Monday afternoon.

Details on the crash are limited, but it happened in the eastbound lanes of US 20 near the South Main St. exit before 1 p.m.

There's no word of any injuries at this time, but 13 News has reached out to Illinois State Police for more information on the crash.
