Oregon man killed in motorcycle vs car crash on Thursday afternoon

OREGON (WREX) — A man is killed and a woman is seriously injured after a car vs. motorcycle crash in Oregon on Thursday, according to the Oregon Police Department.

Oregon Police responded to a car crash at the intersection of East Washington St. and River Road in Oregon around 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, according to the police department's Facebook page.

Shamika Mathis, 27, of Delavan, Wis., pulled into the westbound lane and crashed into a motorcycle, according to police.

The motorcycle driver, James Ross, 75, of Oregon, and the motorcycle passenger, Linda Ross, 73, of Oregon, were both thrown from the motorcycle, police said.

James died at the scene while Linda is still in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
