Rockford Police arrest man for sexual assault and abuse

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford police have one man in custody after he allegedly assaulted four kids under the age of 16.

RPD says Jason Nicholson assaulted the kids on May 3 on the 5400 block of Forrest Hills Road. Nicholson is a registered sex offender in Illinois per RPD. Police also added the Nicholson and the kids knew each other.

After filing the charges, RPD asked for the public's help on Thursday afternoon before announcing they'd caught Nicholson around 10:00 p.m. the same day.

Nicholson is charged with four counts of predatory criminal assault and aggravated sexual abuse.
