Police: Four shot, one stabbed in Rockford over the weekend

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford police say four people were shot and one person was stabbed over the weekend.

Police say the first shooting happened Saturday around 2 a.m. RPD says they were at a hospital on an unrelated call when a 29-year-old man arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his neck and wrist.

Officers say the victim was uncooperative with police.

Police say about an hour later, they were called to the hospital for another walk-in gunshot victim. Police say the 25-year-old man was shot in the hand.

The victim told police he was a party near Jackson St. when someone started firing shots from an unknown vehicle.

The third shooting happened Sunday morning just before 1:30 a.m. in the 4300 block of Auburn Street. Police say a 30-year-old man was shot at the Citgo gas station. Witnesses told police the victim was standing near a car at the gas station when a white Sedan pulled up and someone started shooting at the victim.

The fourth shooting incident happened Sunday afternoon in the 800 block of Whitman St. Officers say there was a large fight in the front lawn of the home.

After the fight, shots were fired from a vehicle, hitting a home and another vehicle, according to police. A 47-year-old man was shot, but uninjured, police say.

Rockford police say the stabbing incident from over the weekend happened Sunday night just after 11:30. Police say they were called to the hospital after a 23-year-old man arrived with a stab wound to his shoulder. RPD says the victim was uncooperative.

Police say all of the injuries sustained in these incidents are considered to be non life-threatening. No arrests have been made in any of the shootings or stabbing. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
