Rockford man charged in shooting that left victim with life-threatening injuries

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A man has been charged after an early morning shooting in Rockford earlier this week.

Police say 29-year-old Charles Beacham, of Rockford, is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.

The shooting happened just before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1500 block of Meadow Court.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police say the victim was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening injury.

Police did not provide more information as to what led to the shooting.
