ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rock Valley College swept a doubleheader over Milwaukee Area Technical College to punch a ticket to next week's Region IV championship series. RVC took game 1, 10-0, and followed that up with a 21-0 performance in game two.

Hononegah grad Ashton Melaas and Jenna Lawson combined for a no-hitter in game 1, with the offense supplying 9 runs in the 1st inning. Conference MVP Kelli Riordan capped off the 1st inning scoring by blasting a solo homerun to make it 9-0. The Lady Golden Eagles never looked back, dominating the double dip.

They'll play Tuesday in the Region IV championship series, with a game 3 scheduled for Wednesday if necessary. The winner of that will play in the NJCAA DIII national tournament in New York.
