Rockford man found guilty of murdering his wife in 2015

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man who was accused of murdering his wife in 2015 has been found been guilty.

John Carlos Boose, 51, was found guilty of First Degree Murder after a jury trial before Judge Randy Wilt.

The murder happened in January of 2015.

Authorities say a child saw Boose repeatedly hitting his wife, Regina, with his hands and a broom handle. The child told police Regina ran to a different room, where Boose continued the abuse.

Regina Boose died from blunt force trauma, according to authorities.

Said Assistant State’s Attorney Alison Meason, “In testifying, the child witness demonstrated remarkable courage.”

The case is set for a virtual status hearing on April 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. and is pending a sentencing date.
