Cool pattern sticks around through the end of the month

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Get used to the weather we've seen throughout the week. We hover right near or slightly below the 60 degree point into the end of the month. There's one cool day that could bring hints of winter as we get into next week.

Cool, quiet weekend:

The weather almost gets to 60 degrees for Friday, providing one of the warmer days of this cool week. A few more peeks of sunshine are likely as we'll have a partly cloudy sky. For once, we won't have breezy winds, so the weather may feel warmer as a result!

While the weather stays a little warmer, we may not see the 60's much over the next few weeks.

The weekend maintains the near-60 degree weather (but falls just short, just like Friday). Saturday dips slightly into the middle 50's, while Sunday gets close to 60 degrees again. The weather looks cloudy at times, but should stay dry. Chances for sprinkles look to line up better just to our south. While we have the dry conditions, don't look for a lot of sunshine, at least until Sunday.

The weather looks a ton drier compared to last weekend, so if you missed out on any outdoor activities, this weekend makes up for it a little.

Cool with a side of showers:

We'll keep rolling with this weather pattern through much of next week. The week doesn't lack for variety, however.

Monday crawls into the low 60's, starting off next week around average. Then, a cold front sweeps through, dropping temperatures for Tuesday. We may drop 10 degrees between Monday and Tuesday, leaving us in the low 50's (or colder).

We may see a few snowflakes mix in with the rain by early Tuesday morning.

As the cold front slides by, rain showers join the front. We could see rain as early as Monday afternoon, and the showers keep going into Monday night. By Tuesday morning, the weather may be just cold enough for, yes, a few snowflakes. That said, don't look for any accumulation. If anything, we may get a rain/snow mix in the morning, then the wintry conditions are a distant memory by the afternoon.

Tuesday night could drop to near or below freezing, then we recover throughout the rest of the week. Wednesday jumps back to the middle 50's, then the 60's are back on Thursday. Late next week, a slightly warmer weather pattern may keep the 60's around more often than not.
