Suburbs to get 150,000 more first-dose vaccine appointments

Pritzker in Rockford

CHICAGO (AP) --Illinois' governor says the state will make 150,000 more first-dose vaccination appointments available in the Chicago suburbs.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker says the vaccines will be available next week at 11 state-run mass vaccination sites in the suburbs and at area pharmacies.

And beginning Monday, residents 16 years and older will be able to schedule appointments in suburban Cook County and in the state's other 101 counties.

Officials have said universal eligibility will be expanded in Chicago on April 19 but Pritzker say Chicago residents are welcome to make appointments at the state-run mass vaccination sites outside the city.
