Women’s world champ McCaskill looks to inspire Rockford boxers

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Just a few weeks ago, Jessica McCaskill was busy defeating Cecilia Braekhus, widely regarded as one of the greatest women's boxers of all-time. That marked McCaskill's 2nd straight win over Braekhus, cementing the Chicago boxer's status as undisputed welterweight champion.
McCaskill took some time out of her busy schedule to come speak to the kids at Patriots Gateway Boxing Club, thanks to a good relationship she and her trainer have with Patriots Gateway trainer Jimmy Goodman.
"I hope that they can learn no matter what obstacles they come against, even if they seem to be an obstacle themselves, they can always get past that and get through that," McCaskill said. "There always will be obstacles. That's just something they have to build up strength for and they can get past it."
McCaskill overcame a lot of obstacles to get where she is in the world of boxing. To hear more of her story, click on the video above.
