POPLAR GROVE (WREX) — Five touchdowns in week one of the shortened season for Logan Emanuel, but even that wasn't the highlight of being back under the lights.
"Yeah it felt good being back out here with everyone," said Emanuel. "Getting the community around and having everyone back. It felt like a little bit of normalcy again, it was good, it was a good feeling."
Logan will take his talents to University of Wisconsin-Stout to continue his academic and football career.
"I'm pretty excited to get up there," said Emanuel. "Learn some new things and get around other talented athletes and like the area and stuff and just compete up there and try to win some football games."
Being a part of the North Boone football family is much more than the game itself.
"I've grown up here my whole life, and just coming to the games ever since I was in like second grade and stuff, being around the football team and stuff it's just really fun," said Emanuel. "I'm going to miss all of my friends because I've grown up with these kids and it's just going to be kind of different leaving and playing with some new people trying to build some new chemistry with the teammates. I think that's what I'm going to miss most with these guys out here."
When asked what moment he'll remember most from his time playing for the Vikings, that's an easy decision for Logan, a big game in 2019.
"Week nine against Winnebago, I had a game-winning tackle on the goal line to send us to the playoffs, that was a cool moment because everyone rushed the field and it was really fun to celebrate on their field too," he said.
Three more weeks with his teammates, heading to UW-Stout and representing his hometown in a big way.
