Jodi Miller re-elected as Mayor of Freeport

FREEPORT (WREX) — Incumbent Jodi Miller has been re-elected as the Mayor of Freeport.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Jodi Miller had 53% of votes (1,819) while her Democratic challenger Ronnie Bush, a Stephenson County board member, had 47% of votes (1,621).

Miller, who ran on the People's Party ticket, touted her 20-year strategic plan for infrastructure and pension liabilities as wins leading up to the election.

"We have not increased the portion of the city's tax bill," Miller previously told 13 WREX.

The Stephenson County County Clerk's Office says 5,885 ballots were cast on Tuesday. The voter turnout in Stephenson County was 17.62%, according to the clerk's office.
