Boylan knocks off East to tighten hold on NIC-10 soccer standings

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Boylan extended its NIC-10 lead to two games, beating 2nd place East, 4-0. The Titans improve to 6-0 in the conference, while East drops to 5-2, giving Boylan a 2-game lead with 3 games remaining on the Titans' schedule.
Boylan struck early in the game on a long throw-in play from Omar Andres that found the foot of Michael Koutsopanagos for a 1-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game. The Titans would add another goal in the 1st half on a free kick from Taylor Sowell that he sent over the top of the wall of defenders and into the net for a 2-0 halftime lead. Sowell added another goal to give Boylan a little breathing room, and the Titans scored another one late in the 2nd half to preserve the 4-0 victory.
Boylan finishes with games against Freeport, Jefferson and Hononegah. Winning at least 2 of those 3 would clinch the outright NIC-10 title for the Titans.
