ROCKFORD (WREX) — Like many events taking place in March 2020, the Irish Marching got the call to cancel their yearly march due to COVID-19.

However, 2021 brings a different story. Hundreds of cars jeeps and motorcycles lined up in their best green to celebrate Irish heritage.

Irish Marching Society President Danny McDade says it's great to be able to celebrate right now, but has bigger plans later this year.

"We're putting a stake in the ground saying look, we're still here," McDade said. "But be on the lookout for a halfway to St. Patrick's Day party. We're going to hook it on to the back of the Labor Day parade and dye the river green. We're going to do it right."

Screw City Jeeps, The Model A Club and Wild Hogs Motorcycle Club all brought vehicles for the parade.
