ROCKFORD (WREX) — After another beautiful Saturday, temperatures dip into Saturday night. Spring like temperatures return Sunday with dry conditions ending later next week.
After high temperatures flirted with the 50s during the day on Saturday, temperatures are expected to drop into the low 20s. Some locations may even see upper teens for Saturday night.
This dip only lasts until Sunday morning as temperatures bounce back into the low to mid 50s. Our area continues to see plenty of sunshine and stays dry for the end of your weekend.
With near average temperatures over the weekend, we can expect temperatures rising into the low 60s this coming week. Starting Monday, warm and spring like conditions will take us through the first half of the week. By Thursday, temperatures return to near average reaching the low 50s and upper 40s.
This will be the first time the Rockford area will be seeing 60 degree temperatures this year. With the warm up early next week, near average temperatures are expected to return after the pleasant spring tease.
With these spring conditions, rain showers are expected after the warm up later next week.
No longer dry:
For last few days, we've had beautiful conditions with sunny skies and no precipitation. This is thanks to the area of high pressure that has been over head. As this high pressure moves out of the area, rainy conditions are expected toward the end of our week.
With temperatures still in the lower 60s, rain showers will being Wednesday and continue into Thursday morning. There is a chance for a rumble of thunder Wednesday night.
Rain totals are expected to be under one inch. Some areas may see slightly over an inch of rain.
