ROCKFORD (WREX) — After a cool Saturday night, temperatures quickly return to the low to mid 50s. Temperatures will continue to increase as well move into the rest of the week with a chance for showers.

Warmer Sunday:

Spring conditions for the first half of next week.

After pleasant conditions on Saturday, cool temperatures will come through the night. As we reach the late morning, temperatures are expected to be in the mid to upper 40s. Once we get through the lunch hour, temperatures will reach low to mid 50s across northern Illinois.

As an area of high pressure remains overhead, conditions will stay dry on Sunday with plenty of sunshine making it feel all that warmer. As we get to the end of our weekend, temperatures will not dip as low as they did Saturday night. For Sunday night, temperatures will stay in the upper 30s for overnight hours.

Spring Tease:

After a sunny weekend, sunshine dominates that first few days of the next week. Along with the sunshine, temperatures will rise to 60 degrees and possibly slightly above. Monday's and Tuesday's temperatures will reach the low 60s for the first time this year.

Showers become more moderate into the evening.

These spring like temperatures will continue through Wednesday until rain showers reach our area. By Wednesday morning, light showers will begin and become more moderate during the afternoon. A clap of thunder or two is possible for Wednesday night.

Showers will die down Thursday morning and continue to move south. Showers will be out of the area, giving way to mostly sunny skies once again on Friday.

These warm conditions do not last long as temperatures begin to return to near average after the rain showers come through the area. By Friday, high temperatures are expected to reach upper 40s with a dry weekend ahead.
