UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — Five people are displaced and two people are injured after a Rockford home caught on fire Tuesday night.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, it happened just after 9 p.m. in the 1500 block of East State Street. Fire crews found smoke and flames on the third floor in the back of the home when they arrived.

Two people were transported for injuries including one firefighter.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Fire officials estimate the cost of damage to be $60,000.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — One person is hurt after a fire in Rockford Tuesday night.

Fire crews responded to the 1500 block of East State Street. According to the Rockford Fire Department, one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
