Illinois vaccination rate improves over several days

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Illinois is in the middle of the pack when it comes to the rate states in the U.S. are vaccinating patients, but that's better than where it was a few days ago.

According to Becker Hospital Review, Illinois ranks 24th for its vaccination rate. It says of the 3.5 million doses delivered to the state, it's administered 2.9 million. That gives it a rate of 81.30. On Friday that rate was in the 60s and Illinois was toward the bottom of the list.

The state with the highest rate of vaccination is North Dakota. Its rate is 96.76. Alabama has the lowest rate with 67.63.

It's important to note North Dakota has received far fewer doses of the vaccine than Illinois with 246,570.
