Winnebago County receives vaccines delayed by severe weather

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) — More than 2,000 doses arrived in Winnebago County on Tuesday after they were delayed because of severe weather across much of the United States.
The county received a total of 2,300 doses of the Moderna vaccine, including 500 doses originally anticipated for the week of February 10.
Winnebago County Public Health Administrator Dr. Sandra Martell reported on February 10 that the county didn't receive those 500 doses the COVID-19 vaccine.
13 WREX followed up with Gov. JB Pritzker's office who said the county didn't receive its shipment because it never placed an order.
The 2,300 doses will be prioritized for people needing a second dose.
