ROCKFORD (WREX) — It took some time, but the IceHogs now have a win on the shortened 2021 season.

In his first professional start in net, Cale Morris had 35 saves to help lead Rockford in the win. Evan Barratt picked up his first professional goal in the first period. The game was tied 1-1 after the first period.

It wasn't until the third period the teams traded off goals. Down 2-1, Rockford's Andrei Altybarmakyan scored his first goal of the season to tie things at two, and then Barratt connected with Isaak Phillips to give the 'Hogs the edge late in the third to give Rockford their first win of the year.

Rockford travels to Cleveland to take on the Monsters for a weekend series, playing a game on Saturday and a game on Sunday.
