Request for new judge denied in coroner’s theft, fraud case

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz and his wife, Michelle, appeared in court on Thursday.

Both the coroner and his wife face multiple counts of forgery and theft charges.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charges in November.

During their court appearance Thursday, both Bill and Michelle requested a new judge for their case. That request was denied.

Their next court appearance is scheduled for April.
