Coroner: Oregon boy’s death being investigated as homicide; boy identified

UPDATE: OREGON (WREX) — The Lee County Coroner's Office has identified the 7-year-old boy from Oregon who died on Wednesday.

The coroner's office says the 7-year-old boy is Nathaniel Burton.

The coroner's office also told 13 WREX that Burton's death is being investigated as a homicide, but did not provide any additional information for the cause of death.

The coroner says they'll know more once the toxicology tests come back in a few weeks.

The Oregon Police Department says no arrests have been made at this time.

OREGON (WREX) — Authorities are now investigating after a 7-year-old boy in Oregon died.

The Oregon Police Department says they were called to a residence in the 400 block of S. 10th St. around 2:30 Wednesday morning for reports of a 7-year-old boy not breathing.

Police say CPR was already in progress when officers arrived on scene.

An Oregon police officer continued CPR until an ambulance arrived on scene.

The boy was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon where he was later pronounced dead, according to the police.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday. The Oregon Police Department and the Lee County Coroner's Office are investigating the death.
