Officials respond to shooting outside of CherryVale Mall

UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — Cherry Valley Police say its looking for three suspects involved in a shooting at the CherryVale Mall on Sunday.

Officials say the shooting occurred at the entrance of Macy's just before 1:00 p.m. and forced the mall into a temporary lockdown.

Authorities announced a search had begun for three suspects involved in the shooting.

Police posted surveillance photos of what they say are the three suspects leaving the mall shortly after the shooting on their Facebook page.

They also say the photos show the suspects getting into a Black Dodge Charger.

Police say no one was injured from the shooting but multiple shell casings were found on the scene.

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Authorities are investigating after they say shots were fired outside of CherryVale Mall on Sunday afternoon.

Cherry Valley Police say they were called for a shooting outside of the Macy's entrance around 12:49 p.m.

According to officials, no one was injured but multiple empty shell casings were recovered at the scene.

The mall was forced to go in to a temporary lockdown, but is now open.

Police say they have nobody in custody and are still investigating this shooting.
