Rockford Fire crews rescue two people from 6th St. fire

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Five people are displaced Wednesday afternoon after two separate fires break out at one home on 6th Street in Rockford.
Rockford Fire said crews responded to 1100 South 6th St., Rockford, around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire started on the upper floor and spread to the attic while another fire started on the opposite side of the home, according to the department.
The cause of the fires are under investigation, as well as whether the two fires were related to the same issue.
Rockford Fire said crews rescued two people with disabilities on the bottom floor. No one was hurt.
