ROCKFORD (WREX) —Indoor dining is back in the stateline, but that doesn't mean the COVID-19 virus has gone away. So how can you dine indoors safely in the midst of a pandemic?
A SwedishAmerican doctor says indoor dining can be safe if diners and restaurants take the proper precautions.
That includes wearing your mask and practicing social distancing. For restaurants, it's keeping ventilation systems clean and sanitizing surfaces.
"I think one of the first things will be choosing the right place. We have to make sure we are going to restaurants that are following the precautions," said Dr. Otavio Rodrigues, an infectious disease specialist with SwedishAmerican Hospital.
Restaurants should also enforce capacity limits. If it seems like there are too many people crowded around, it's safer to avoid being inside.
