Petition created to designate January 17th as Betty White Day

Betty White Petition

(WEEK) - Sunday marked Illinois-born icon Betty White's 99th birthday and one super fan is working to get her an epic gift!

Boise, Idaho resident Konrad Juengling created a petition in hopes to designate January 17th as Betty White Day in her hometown Oak Park.

Created just three days ago, the petition has gained more than 430 signatures in favor for the day to honor Betty White.

"I was really surprised when I was looking stuff up about her that she doesn't have a day named after her," said Juengling. "I thought it would be really fun for her hometown of Oak Park to create a Betty White Day to honor her."

Juengling said he hopes Betty White Day will spread beyond Oak Park to a day that all of Illinois celebrates as well.

The petition can be found here.
