Rockford man found guilty of sexually assaulting teenager in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY (WREX) — A Rockford man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting a minor in Boone County.

Douglas Valentine, 41, of Rockford, was found guilty of two counts of criminal sexual assault and four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

In October of 2018, the 15-year-old victim reported that she had several sexual encounters with Valentine, including two in Boone County.

Last January, Valentine was taken into custody for the same crime, but in Winnebago County.

Valentine will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The Boone County case is set for sentencing hearing on October 23, 2020. Valentine is also facing similar charges in Lake County. That case is currently set for trial on October 13, 2020. The charges against Valentine in Winnebago County are still pending.
