UPDATE: Woman killed in downtown Rockford crash

UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WREX) — A woman is dead after a two car crash in downtown Rockford on Monday.

The crash happened right in front of Rockford's City Hall building at the intersection of E. State St. and S. 2nd St. around 10:30 a.m.

Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz says a 73-year-old woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, died at the hospital from the injuries sustained in the crash.

Rockford police have not provided any more information on the crash.

A two car crash Monday morning has blocked off traffic on East State Street.

The crash happened right in front of Rockford's City Hall building at the intersection of E. State St. and S. 2nd St.
