RPD announces charges made during a protest on Friday night

ROCKFORD (WREX) — The Rockford Police Department has announced the charges made during a protest on Friday night. For the 5th week in a row, people protested City Market on Friday. Protesters say they are protesting City Market because charges that were made during a protest on May 30th. The protesters are demanding that those charges should be dropped.

In total, seven people were arrested and charged from Friday night's protest. These are the following charges: 19-year-old Ariel Perez of Rockford was charged with mob action and obstructing, 20-year-old Roberto Vargas, of Rockford was charged with mob action, obstructing and resisting
20-year-old Riley Hotchkiss of Rockford was charged with obstructing and resisting, 18-year-old Alyssa Waldsmith of Machesney Park was charged with mob action and obstructing, 19-year-old Jordan Nelson of Brodhead, WI was charged with obstructing, resisting and possession of drug paraphernalia, 33-year-old Matthew Bronner was charged with mob action and two counts of resisting, and a 13-year-old female from Rockford was charged with obstructing and resisting.
