Beloit parks employee spots cougar in park

BELOIT (WKOW) -- City officials in Beloit say they've spotted a big cat in a local park.

Beloit's Parks and Recreation department posted on Facebook Saturday to say an employee spotted a cougar at Big Hill Park.

The department reported the sighting to the DNR.

Two parks employees also reported spotting a cougar in Big Hill Park in 2015.

Last June, police in Beloit said they took a report from someone who saw a cougar near the foot bridge by Portland Avenue.

The department posted information from the DNR on what to do if you see a cougar or other wild animal near you.
