ROCKFORD (WREX) — Two crashes cause westbound traffic on U.S. Route 20 to stop Tuesday evening.

According to Illinois State Police District 16, the first crash happened on U.S. 20 between Illinois Route 2 and Montague Road. One vehicle was involved. The second crash happened behind the first one closer to Route 2. That involved four vehicles. Traffic was still backed up at 7:40 p.m.

ISP says there are no injuries and that east bound traffic was not affected. A tow truck has arrived at the scene and traffic should be moving soon.
