Lowe’s providing $55 million to small businesses affected by pandemic

(CNN) — Lowe's is giving away $55 million in grants to small businesses struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The home improvement chain is providing the funds through a nonprofit called the Local Initiatives Support Corporation.

$30 million will go toward women and minority owned businesses while the rest will support those in rural communities.

Applications are due Monday, August 3.
