Freeport Police arrest one suspect, search for another after shooting at local motel

FREEPORT (WREX) — Freeport police have launched a murder investigation after an shooting at a motel.

Around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Freeport Police were called to the Twonhouse Motel on W. Galena Ave for shots being fired. When they got there, they found a 39-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, he died at the scene.

Police arrested 27-year-old Willie Love shortly after. He is charged with first degree murder and unlawful possession of weapons by a felon.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for Traivyon Harvey. Harvey is a 22-year-old Chicago resident. He is charged with first degree murder and two counts of unlawful possession of weapons by a felon.

On Wednesday night, authorities said the suspects were last seen leaving the area in a Chevrolet Uplander minivan.

If anyone has information about this crime or the current whereabouts of Harvey and/or vehicle they should contact the nearest law enforcement agency as quickly as possible.  The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
