ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford business owner Janene Stephenson is using her business to help other women business owners. She is hosting pop-up shops for business owners to sell their products. People can either rent her space for the day or they can rent a booth at one of her pop-up shop events. Stephenson says she created the idea after struggling with event planning and consulting business during the pandemic.

"I opened up my business in March and I had close my business in March weeks later. So I was just thinking of creative things to help me and help other business owners at the same time, " Said Stephenson. "build their brand, get their name out there with their products"

It's helping people like Naomi Sanders, an author who is using the pop-up shop to help sell her latest book.

"This is an opporuntity to get the word out and get the book out and for people to come in and realize that no matter what they are facing there is hope," Sanders.

Both woman say the pop-up shops also help the business owners connect with other business owners while they are selling their products.

"It's very encouraging to know that you are not alone, and there is someone there to say if you are struggling, I have been there so let's come together and work together," said Sanders.

The next pop up shop will be on July 11th at Stephenson's store in the 600 block of West State Street.
