Mud volleyball canceled due to COVID-19

ROSCOE (WREX) — The Mud Volleyball Committee made an announcement Tuesday morning that it will cancel mud volleyball.

The post, made to Facebook, blamed COVID-19 for the tough decision. Below is the Facebook post in its entirety:

"It is with regret that we must inform you of the cancellation for Mud Volleyball 2020. KNIB (Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful) looked forward to running this event in 2020. After much internal discussion and work with our county health department, we could not find a way to make this event work this year. We understand the disappointment, but look forward to our chance in hosting the 40th year of Mud Volleyball on August 7, 2021. Mark your calendars because the mud will be fresh, the beer cold, and sun shining. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for updates."
