ROCKFORD (WREX) — Leaders from Keith Country Day School are opening the doors this summer to students seeking to build momentum for the upcoming school year.

The two-week, in-person course is called Summer Supercharge 2020: Ready, Set, Know! The program will provide students with an opportunity to reinforce important skills and learn new concepts ahead of the 2020-21 school year.

The program's sessions will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. during the weeks of July 13 and July 23 on Monday through Thursday. The program will serve kids from PreK through 6th grade.

The sessions are open to all students, even if they don't attend Keith Country Day School. The total cost for both weeks is $100 per student.

“After the unexpected ending to our last school year, we are giving area students the opportunity to reconnect with other students and teachers while getting a power-packed brain boost in a quality and safe setting,” said Ashleigh Van Thiel, Keith Co-Head of School. “Our talented instructors have prepared curriculum in grade-level targeted literacy and math for on-campus learning. Students will receive individualized instruction within each grade-level grouping—so everyone learns at their own pace.”

Keith will provide information regarding safety protocols on its website.

In addition to the morning sessions, the school is also offering afternoon online enrichment courses for students through 12th grade in music and art.

Registration must occur prior to July 6 as school officials say there will be a limited availability in each class to ensure the safety of students and teachers.
