16-year-old killed in shooting in Rockford, murder investigation underway
ROCKFORD (WREX) — Rockford Police say they have launched a homicide investigation after a 16-year-old was shot and killed.
The shooting happened Thursday evening in the 1400 block of Blaisdell Street.
Police say they found the teenager suffering from a gunshot wound and rushed him to the hospital, where he later died.
Police say they don't believe this is a random act, and that there is no threat to the public.
