ROCKFORD (WREX) -- A 21-year-old was arrested for the third time on gun charges on housing property in Rockford.
Rockford Police say the arrest took place while patrolling in the Fairgrounds Housing Development on Wednesday night around 9:00 p.m.
Officers noticed Marquis Jones, 21, of Rockford and he took off running and then threw a loaded gun, according to police.
Authorities caught Jones and he was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, criminal trespass and resisting arrest.
This is Jones' third gun arrest on housing property and he had previously been banned for life, police say.
Bond is set at $2,000.
