Toni’s in Winnebago offers free pizza for mask donations

WINNEBAGO (WREX) — Toni's Pizza in Winnebago has figured out a way to give back to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It's offering a free large one-topping pizza when customers donate 10 sewn facial masks.

Sewn masks are distributed to local organizations that need them. This includes places like hospitals, nursing homes and many other places that need handmade masks during the pandemic.

People from all across the Stateline are sewing masks and many others have donated supplies. A little over 500 masks have been made, but more are needed.

Michelle Princer, owner of Toni's in Winnbago, hopes this will give people a sense of accomplishment. Princer thinks this could bring some positivity to the community during this tough time.

"If this can touch somebody's life and even if you can see how cool this one is and make somebody smile then I think that is well worth it in these time," Princer said.

Toni's of Winnebago is open Tuesday through Sunday for carry-out and delivery.
