ROCKFORD (WREX) — Health officials in Winnebago County are preparing to need additional hospital beds amid the outbreak of COVID-19.
The Winnebago County Health Department says as of Mar. 26, the county has 892 potential hospital beds, including 519 hospital beds already filled.
Of those numbers, 164 beds are ICU beds, 93 which are already filled.
The number of ventilators available on Mar. 26 is 72.

The health department says the second and third person's case was community spread, but have not said how any of the other patients got the virus. Details of the conditions of all of the residents is unknown at this time.
