President Trump calls out Gov. Pritzker, Pritzker responds

(WREX) — President Trump took to Twitter Sunday morning calling out governors who have been critical of the White House's response of COVID-19. One of the governors President Trump called was Illinois Governor JB Pritzker.

Trump tweeted on Sunday that they should not be "blaming the federal government for their own shortcomings."

He added: "We are there to back you up should you fail, and always will be!"

Here's the President's full tweet at Gov. Pritzker:

Shortly after the president tweeted, Gov. Pritzker responded, saying in part the president should be "leading a national response instead of throwing tantrums from the back seat."

Here's Gov. Prtizker's full response:

Last week, Gov. Pritzker called out both President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence over long lines at O'Hare International Airport days after President Trump announced a travel ban for travelers coming from 26 countries in Europe, and yesterday, extended that ban to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Those restrictions have caused a crush of international travelers at airports across the country, including at O'Hare.
