City First Church hosts second supply drive, this time for Rockford Rescue Mission

ROCKFORD (WREX) — Cars drove through the City First Church parking lot for the second time this week to support people in Rockford.

On Thursday, the church collected supplies and letters of encouragement for nursing home residents. On Saturday, the focus shifted to the Rockford Rescue Mission.

The donation drive focused on items like food, cleaning supplies and medicine. Spiritual Growth Pastor Adam Seaton says we need to lift up people in need during difficult times.

"In moments like these, a lot of individuals are affected," Seaton said. "Specifically, those who are in need on an average day, their need is heightened. So we need to be able to do what we could as a church to respond and meet that need."

City First Church will also donate 1,200 meals along with what the donation drive brings in.
