Rockford man sentenced to 30 years in jail for sexually abusing a minor

ROCKFORD (WREX) — A Rockford man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a minor in 2012.

Paul Mathis, 59, was sentenced to 30 years in in the Illinois Department of Corrections on Thursday.

Authorities say the assault happened in Feb. 2012.

Mathis was convicted of the charges last December following a jury trial.
