Civilian group alerts police of Freeport man trying to have sexual contact with a minor

FREEPORT (WREX) — A Freeport man was taken into custody thanks to the help of a Wisconsin based civilian group.

Dylan Keep, 27, of Freeport, was taken into custody and charged with unlawful grooming.

Freeport police say they were contacted by an Edgerton, Wisconsin based civilian group known as the "Worldwide Predator Hunters" on Feb. 24.

Someone from the group told police Keep was trying to meet up with someone who Keep thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Freeport police investigated and say Keep used a computer to send a lewd photo to someone he believed to be 15 years old to seduce them into committing a sexual act.

Keep was taken into custody on Tuesday, Mar. 3 and has since posted his bond, which was set at 10% of $10,000.
