ILLINOIS (WREX) — Marijuana has been legal in Illinois for roughly two months and the state has made more than $10 million from it.
But, at what cost? And how many high drivers have been pulled over Illinois highways.
Illinois State Police Troopers in our area are now trained in "advanced roadside impaired driving."
"We use those (tools) when we suspect there's something other than alcohol involved," says District 16 Capt. Carl Heintz.
Wednesday on 13 News at 10, 13 WREX is digging deeper into the number of crashes and citations regarding driving high, and looking at other programs police are using to keep area roadways safe.
