Beloit College earns recognition for financial aid

BELOIT (WREX) — With the cost of higher education continuing to rise, scholarship help is a top priority for incoming students.

One college in the state-line placed scholarship availability at a premium and now has earned national recognition by LendEDU.

Beloit College ranked second out of 820 four year institutions for both need-based and non-need-based financial aid.

Leaders at the college like Vice President of Enrollment Leslie Davidson say that they want to make higher education available to everyone, regardless of their financial background.

"And we think that kind of education needs to be available to students who would benefit from it and not just those who can afford it," Davidson said.

The top Illinois school on the list was Milikin University which ranked 25th.
