Guilford senior Tyler Knuth and Boylan senior Peyton Kennedy are this week's Friday Night Nets Performance of the Week poll winners.
Knuth surpassed the 1,000 point mark for his career against Hononegah last week. He's been a versatile scorer for the Vikings all season, showing an ability to score inside, outside and from mid-range. Knuth narrowly won the poll, getting 35 percent of the 966 votes to 34 percent for Hononegah's Chris Akelaitis. Rockford Lutheran's Zach Derus got 19 percent, while Rockford Christian's Marcus Hill garnered 12 percent of the vote.
Boylan's Peyton Kennedy took home the FNN Girls Performance of the Week after scoring a career-high 35 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a hard-fought win over Belvidere North. The St. Louis University commit is a double-double machine for the Lady Titans and has picked up her game late in the season to help Boylan take some momentum into the playoffs. She received 46 percent of the 820 votes cast over the past two days. Giving her a run in the poll was Stillman Valley's Lexi Lichty, who earned 40 percent. Ashton-Franklin Center's Camdyn Penick got 10 percent following her 41 point outburst that included nine 3-pointers, while Sycamore's Kylie Feuerbach rounded out the voting with 4 percent.
The next poll will be unveiled Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Twitter (@DBayneSports). You can watch the 6 p.m. news that night for more information on the candidates. If you see any worthy performances throughout the week, email nominations to email@example.com.
